Defensive end John Fonoti said he hopes to resume practicing tomorrow.
Fonoti slipped while cleaning a roof on Sunday. He landed on both feet. He suffered deep bruises to his feet. X-rays indicated he might have a possible hairline fracture in his left heel, but he believes the injury is not serious enough to prevent him from practicing tomorrow.

It was an emotional time at the Warrior Quarterbacks for Charity auction/dinner last night at the Kahala Hotel & Resort.
In 1941, the Warrior Deans were 8-1 with two games remaining. But then Pearl Harbor was attacked. The final two games of that year and the next four seasons were canceled because of the war. The 1941 season ended without a banquet or distribution of varsity letters.
Last night, after a video produced by your favorite televsion personality and narrated by your favorite reporter, June Jones gave Mun Kin Wong, the quarterback on that 1941 team, a varsity letter and a No. 37 jersey.
Wong decided to climb onto the front of the stage instead of taking the stairs on the side.
While embracing Jones, a tearful Wong said: "I love this. I've been trying a long time to get this to happen. Thank you."
Everyone cried, including Rudy.
The family owns Wong's Drapery on Beretania next to Central Pacific Bank. Wong still goes into work every day, according to family members.

Friends of Hawai‘i Charities and HUGS each received $35,000 from the event — with more to come.

Before there was this blog and Garret's incredible search-engine powers, Tombo provided updates on current and former UH players on his site: www.uhfootball.blogspot.com.
Tombo still provides the service, adding his zesty comments to video and story links.
The Juggernaut?
Tombo was the first to find what has become a Youtube classic.
Please turn your attention to one of the wittiest and brightest bloggers, Tombo:
I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. Thanks to Stephen and the Tsaikos for letting me post my bio, especially since I haven’t been commenting here too much recently, though I have a lot more in the past, and I still do read the blog every day, sometimes more than twenty times a day, especially during the liveblogs and chat sessions, and and… anyway, I was just talking about “short and sweet” a little while ago, wasn’t I? Where are my keys….
My name is Tombo Ahi, aka Thunnus Alalunga, or as my parents call me, Tommy. I was born at Kapiolani Hospital on, just to sound dramatic, the eve of our nation’s bicentennial. I’m mostly Korean with just a hint of haole. The haole part is actually Scottish, so basically I… dip my haggis in ko chu jang? That actually sounds delicious and disgusting at the same time.
Growing up in Aiea and Pearl City, I first became a UH football fan when I was a paper boy back in 1989 (sorry, mostly for the S
. At the time, I was strictly a baseball nut, playing Little League, cheering for Les Murakami’s Rainbows, etc. But as I folded and delivered papers on Sunday mornings, I would keep seeing these crazy scores in the sports section, the UH football team scoring 67 points one game, 60 points another, just destroying opponents. I was intrigued. One of the first football games I saw was UH beating BYU 56 to 14. Crazy! I was hooked. The Bob Wagner era, with Paul Johnson’s triple option -- it was like watching a bunch of magicians out on the field.
I eventually went to UH-Manoa and attended for five years. Don’t hold it against me, but I majored in English. Yeah, I know. So I went to graduate school in Los Angeles to learn a trade. Nowadays, I live in SoCal, working with a tiny tiny production company that makes corporate videos and DVDs. So basically, if you sell donuts, I’ll make video about it. No no, it’s not as glamorous as it sounds.
I started my blog back in 2004 basically out of boredom and to keep track of news stories I was reading online. Initially, I really had no intention of anyone actually reading it, and it showed. I just wrote whatever came to mind, posts were full of swear words, and it was just...obnoxious. Basically, I was the know-it-all fan who really didn’t know anything, while trying to be clever about it. I know what you’re saying, “Nooooo! I would’ve never guessed!” Well, at least I’ve cut out the swearing. And I'm working on the rest
Nowadays, realizing people read my blog mainly to get information on the Warriors, I try to just point people to news stories, other blog entries, and the great work UH fans are doing, whether it’s here, Sportshawaii, WSN, Warriors Haka, etc. while keeping my foolishness in check (for the most part). Lately, as in the last 8 months, there’s been tons and tons and tons of news and it’s been really crazy trying to keep up (Garret can attest to this). But I’m not complaining. Interest in UH football is incredibly high, the offense will be amazing and the defense will be a monster. Along with the rest of the Warrior Nation, I'm looking forward to an amazing season, one for the ages, one in which Jim Leahey will have the opportunity to quote multiple Jimi Hendrix songs, sometimes more than once per game.
Man, that wasn’t short and sweet at all. But anyway, thanks for reading! And…
GO WARRIORS!!!!
