'Lost' in Hawai'i

Advertiser writer Caryn Kunz first started watching "Lost" in college as a way to avoid studying. Like other Losties throughout the world, she hopes that the remainder of Season 3 will finally start to answer some burning questions, like what the heck is going on?
Posted on: October 31, 2007 at 11:33:37 am
From Chinatown to Koreatown

Advertiser Staffer Stanley Lee got stuck in traffic this morning. Funny thing is, as he inched through Chinatown, he noticed that all the cars and signs had mysteriously acquired Korean characters! So he called me.

Looks like we're going to have some serious Korean flash(forwards? backs?) this season.

He said the filming is currently taking place on Pauahi Street between Maunakea and Smith. If you have time, check it out!

PICTURES!

These were shot by Mike Brown, one of our myAdvertiser.com Downtown/Chinatown registered users. Check out his comments at http://myadvertiser.com/downtown.

Polar bears, then pandas. What's so 'beary' important about these animals?

Comments:

can anyone read korean? that would help out too...

well, wait, nevermind, they're just street names. unless the lost writers have figured out how to put clues in those too....

I got some photos this morning, and stopped by during lunch. Watched Daniel Dae Kim chase after a cab and smash his phone to pieces in frustration.

chawan_cut: love the lantern!! Did your friend use a pattern, or carve it freehand? impressive.

Ryan: Awesome!! Can't wait to see it on the big screen. =)

hukilau: I will remember to contact you the next time I need some bad jokes...haha.

caryn,

he used a pattern he made himself. he's been making these profile pumpkins for the last few years, with patterns he found on the internet. i don't know how he made the pattern from one of colt's pics this time around, but it turned out pretty good don'tcha think?

and has anyone seen sun running around with jin? seems like its been just jin jin jin. so gotta wonder when these flash scenes occurred...

Okay, here's a thought of all these Jin things; remember how they showed a lot of Mr. Eko episodes and then they killed him off, do you think this happening to Jin? It's a bit hard to determine if these things happen in the future. But I think that if it was to happen in the future, don't you think that Jin and Sun would leave Korea to start a new life somewhere else? So that they could get away from Sun's powerful dad? Just my thoughts.

It's always tough to film in a well-traveled area like that.

Pedestrians got annoyed when they were asked to move to the other side of the road...you cannot stop people from moving around in a public domain like that. Some of the production assistants may not understand that, and may need to be counseled in that area.

The rain was what really complicated things during the shoot though.

Pretty straight-forward day however, with the exception of some homeless guy who got in the food line and helped himself to the buffet...that took nerve!

I will say, Daniel behaved in an exemplary fashion ALL DAY, and he is too be commended for that. He can throw tantrums just like all the other actors, but yesterday, he was the definitive model of nothing less than great behavior.
