Single Family Homes in Ewa Plain

Sales of single family homes in the Ewa Plain decreased in 2007, but this was still the neighborhood with the highest sales on O`ahu. It is defined by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® for research purposes as Tax Map Key Zone 9, Section 1. This is the area experiencing the most rapid growth on the island.

Last year, 592 dwellings changed hands, which was a 14.5% decline in sales since 2006. The median price paid for a single family home last year was $515,000 which was down 2.5% from the prior year's $528,000 median price. In 2005, buyers in this neighborhood paid $487,300 for the median-priced home.

Sales time for the median property was quite stable at 54 days, just one day above the 2006 indicator. Looking back to the peak of the market in 2005, sales took place in just 17 days!

If you'd like specific information on this, or any other O`ahu neighborhood, feel free to contact any local REALTOR® who would be happy to be of assistance.

Mr. Shapiro
I just wanted to comment that the real estate market is still very very much inflated? I have left the islands for a six figure job and still could not afford to live in Hawaii? you keep telling people that the market will stable or rise? yada yada yada! The local people aren't going to move?so why not tell them the truth instead of tayloring to the Mainlanders. I see the Market taking a huge drop this year! That would only get you more results from local buyer's. You know and I know that it is not worth buying and we need to drive these investers out of Hawaii!

Pat, what economic data are you using to make your prediction? I'd love to read those sources because I'm always looking for good reliable information on Hawaii's market and not just the nation as a whole. nauproperties.com
