Sales of single family homes in the Ewa Plain decreased in 2007, but this was still the neighborhood with the highest sales on O`ahu. It is defined by the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® for research purposes as Tax Map Key Zone 9, Section 1. This is the area experiencing the most rapid growth on the island.
Last year, 592 dwellings changed hands, which was a 14.5% decline in sales since 2006. The median price paid for a single family home last year was $515,000 which was down 2.5% from the prior year's $528,000 median price. In 2005, buyers in this neighborhood paid $487,300 for the median-priced home.
Sales time for the median property was quite stable at 54 days, just one day above the 2006 indicator. Looking back to the peak of the market in 2005, sales took place in just 17 days!
